I know it’s September but surely it’s not too early to start thinking about Christmas, especially if you have a lot of people to buy for. Sometimes buying early is key to finding the best deals for you & your family.
As I have gotten older, I’ve been more interested in giving and receiving experiences rather than materials gifts. I would rather buy someone tickets to a concert or a voucher for a spa day instead of something that’s going to sit in the box for months. Using websites such as Latest Deals that have ever changing & updated deals from various retailers can help you save money!
Latest Deals is a UK website that collates vouchers and discount codes for lots of different retailers so if you’re interested then check out their link. It’s like a voucher/discount search engine. You can use their checker to see trends on the best time to buy and where you can get your items/vouchers for the cheapest.
You join for free and you can search for both items and vouchers! It shares deals that people have found and updates it constantly. The top retailers it shares deals from include Amazon, Argos & Tesco and you buy directly from the trusted retailer. There are forums that you can chat in if you’re looking for something specific and you can share any deals that you find.
I usually do a mix of online and offline shopping for Christmas but I think this year it’s going to be almost 100% because I’m in Australia and 98% of my friends and family are in the UK! Shopping online for me is my preferred method of shopping. I’m not a typical girly girl and don’t actually enjoy shopping (I know, shock horror) so picking things without having to even get dressed makes life so much easier.
When I think about Christmas presents, I make a list of the people I’m buying for. Then I start to think about what kind of thing they might want or need (so grown up thinking about what people might need, I know). Then I search for things but I don’t rush into buying it. I like to take my time, knowing that something might stand out to me as time goes on. Sometimes it is through advertising, sometimes through online searches, other times at random if I happen to see it in store.
Choosing a thoughtful gift is often easier than you might imagine when you don’t plan. If you see something and think ‘ooh, I think x would like that’ then you know you’re on to a winner. There are now 15 Saturdays (including this one, 15th September) until Christmas!
When do you usually start your Christmas shopping?
